Greer Station
With over 40 buildings, Greer station, which is Greer’s Central Business District, has become a destination with 12 square blocks of dining, retail, entertainment, and service organizations. A feature during the summer, called “Tunes In The Park”, is a Saturday evening concert series that brings hundreds of music lovers together to enjoy music under the bright night sky. New visitors also visit downtown for fun festivals such as Oktoberfest, Wing Fling, Chili Cook-Off, and Greer Family Fest.
Greer Station took on a new look in 2008 with new civil facilities ready to serve the public. The two-story Police and Court Complex connects to the west boundary of Greer Station, while the City Park and Greer City Hall are just 2 blocks to the east. Greer’s City Hall includes a whole floor dedicated to public space, with a 4,500-square-foot event hall available for galas, receptions, and conventions.
City Park
Not far from the City Hall is Greer’s famous City Park. City Park includes a large fountain synced to music, a children’s play area, walking trails, an amphitheater for ceremonies & concerts to the public, and a green space large enough for all families and fun. The facilities where the Cultural Arts Division serves are places such as the Cannon Centre (for theater productions), the Tyron Recreation Center (for classes and camps), and the newly renovated ‘Center For The Arts.’ The Center for the Arts serves as the home of Greer’s Cultural Arts and offers both classroom and office space, an auditorium for approximately 150 seats, and artists in residence. As for the outdoor area, the center offers a 2-acre park with walking trails, a playground, a large green space, and a small amphitheater.
